Memes decide my talking to people:

I have to believe that it's just not me who feels this way. The way of the social internet is that people post memes constantly. Well, a lot of folks, especially jaded ones, they tend to post these very one-sided perspective types of things that always completely tear down whomever the "other" side is. The problem is that they are always very general and rather blanket an entire gender or social group as being who are the only ones toxic and/or just absolutely suck. These people also tend to promote that they aren't ones to take any accountability about much because they claim being the victim in every way possible, every single day and never once do you see them say they are sorry or at fault for anything. I immediately never desire to speak with anyone who becomes constantly like that. The folks who constantly post those life affirmation memes are almost as bad. It's because those come across just like posting daily horoscopes - also very general and incredibly open to interpretation. What's worse is that most people posting the positive, life-affirming memes practically never actually live that way or act that way or even treat others that way. That's essentially a two-faced person to me, and I don't want anything to do with them.

Well then... OK.

I don't know anything about any of that because I do not engage in any social media. This forum is the total extend of my social media.

Memes... I never use them and a lot of the time can't understand them, or see the point of them. If someone has an opinion, then why don't they just say it? Why use a meme? If I have something to say I write it, it doesn't even occur to me to look for or create a meme. I hardly use social media anyway.

I love memes and gifs. But will secretly block anyone on social media who posts political stuff, even family. I don't want to see that stuff. I'm in it for the humour and absurdity.

The main reason for me ending my Facebook account many years ago.

I enjoy a funny visual meme joke like most people, but it's this sort of thing described above that ruins it for many people.

Internet trolls, sociopathic and psychopathic personalities, and just plain low IQ people trying to get a reaction. There is no real recourse against their little meme's and one-liner responses. Of course, they are baiting people to see who will "bite the hook". That's the game. They drop their little explosive device in the water, watch it blow up, and then see what floats to the top, and that would be the poor fool, full of other facts, that wants to engage with them. Now, they have a captured audience. Recognize there's either a sick, twisted mind behind it, or two, a really stupid one. Either way, you can't win an argument with either of them. One person is going to take you down a path of madness, the other one, down a path of stupidity.

Shut them down by not engaging and isolating them. It was just easier for me to not view them in the first place. Remove myself from the site.

I often communicate in memes and gifs because they’re easier than writing or speaking when I’m feeling overwhelmed. Especially during times of high stress and low energy.

Funny and absurd, I can handle. If you genuinely back up what they say and live that way, cool. If you are just gaslighting, talking trash or the uber political BS...nope...I erase said person from whatever site having to deal with them anymore. Sorry, I had just gotten very OCD about them of late, really took notice of them and what kinds whomever were constantly rolling out, and this was my editorial that I felt I needed to blurt out. Oops.
