Mental capacity

I feel at times that I am not using my mind at it's full capacity and would like to know if anyone else has that feeling at times? Anyone recommend some ways for me to strengthen my mind? I have been reading theory of relativity, I have been trying to learn things online but it seems hard to focus on any given subject. Again any suggestions would be grateful and was wandering if anyone else had this feeling.

Sometimes, when I feel like I can't find motivation to receive new information, there's some other issue troubling me that I'm not always aware of.

Perhaps try testing differences factors, such as getting enough sleep, regular exercise, eating healthy, being satisfied socially, etc. if those aren't the issue, perhaps there is some topic of interest on your mind, which you need to deal with first. Otherwise, a lack of motivation may be due to feelings of depression. There are a number of factors to consider. It might be worth trialling them, and seeing what responds best for you.

It could even be as simple as finding a new interest that you can really immerse yourself in.

The only answer I really have to this question is just to make the most of the mental capacity you have and to cultivate intellectual curiosity and "feed your brain" in whatever way you find pleasurable. There are no magical solutions I know of to increase brain power (some might say drugs can do that, but I personally wouldn't recommend that).

While we're on this subject, contrary to popular belief (and movies), the idea that we only use 10% of our brain capacity isn't true (at least not in a literal sense):

Ten percent of brain myth - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Don't push it too hard if you don't rest properly your cognitive activity diminishes. I get tired from time to time of using my brain and just need some rest.

I do have that feeling, but usually not for long. When I can't concentrate on one thing, I usually find myself in a stage between interests. I know that I'm in a transition phase of my cycle between languages to symbolic logic, for example. I know from experience that I can't fight it, so I just go along with it and start the next interest. Sometimes I find that I can't concentrate on anything, or this transition phase is a bit long, and I allow myself to not really focus on anything and just skip from thing to thing (such as random articles, youtube videos, and computer games) until something catches my attention.

I guess this only works for me because I'm easily snared into things. If you are not, that may be your problem.
