Mini heart attacks when first encounter a radio controlled clock

Misty Avich

Hellooooooooooo!!!

When I still lived at home my mum bought a radio controlled clock and put it up in the bathroom. One night I went to use the bathroom at about 2am and as I was sat on the toilet I saw the hands on the clock moving backwards on their own, until they both stopped dead on 12.00.
I almost died in fright, thinking it was haunted or something and I went back to bed and planned on phoning the paranormal experts in the morning.
When I told my mum about it in the morning, she explained that it was a radio controlled clock, meaning it can adjust itself automatically, normally in the early hours of the morning. That answered a lot of questions I was about to have. Lol

Then when I moved in with my husband my mum gave the clock to me to take with me and we put it up in the living-room. I forgot to tell him it was radio controlled, and one early morning when he got up before leaving for work he saw the hands on the clock moving by themselves and it really spooked him out. He thought of waking me up and getting me out of the apartment before calling an exorcist to come in. But he went to work as normal and told me about it when I woke up, and I explained to him about radio controlled clocks.

Moral of the story, if you have a radio controlled clock always remember to tell others that it's radio controlled and that is not moving paranormally. 😂

That's pretty funny! :D I don't think I'd ever heard of such a thing as a radio controlled clock before reading your post.

It makes me wonder if they had a similar thing where I used to work. The only difference is that they were digital clocks. We had set break times so you would keep an eye on the time when getting close to break time so you could finish up what you were doing so as not to cause problems when you came back after a break.

You'd get pretty used to the passage of time, and you'd kinda know when to check the clock. One evening I was working and I felt it was getting close to break time so I checked the clock. It was about 15 minutes to the hour, so I began preparing so I'd be ready to go for my break. I looked again and the clock suddenly showed about 20 past the hour.

I felt pretty silly that I must have misread the time or hallucinated or something (it was a Nightshift after all!). The thing is my colleague working at the next station looked a bit confused too. We even joked about going a bit mad and the funny coincidence that we had both misread the time.

So we kept on working, but with the feeling that it felt like an awful long time between breaks. Again the clock showed that it was getting towards the hour so we prepared to wind things down. The time kept ticking and both my colleague and I were watching the time... 22:45...22:50...22:55.....22:59.....22:20?????!!!!!???huh?!!! Wait what??!!!

We both looked at eachother looking for confirmation that we weren't going crazy! It turned out we had been working over an hour longer than we should have and there was a problem with the clock! Very surreal to see time running backwards lol!

It actually caused a huge problem with it being a factory as every hour the number of completed parts had to be counted and entered into the database. For the rest of the shift we were stuck in a time loop going from 22:20 to 22:59 back to 22:20 lol!

Don't be ridiculous.
Superstition/the-supernatural always trumps a rational explanation.
