My aunt has covid and is in the hospital

I learned the day after I got home that my aunt has covid really bad. She thought it was the cold or flu so she ignored it for a couple weeks thinking she would get better. When she didn't she went to the hospital. They gave her paxlovid and sent her home. The paxlovid didn't work so now she is back in the hospital, but I don't know if she's intubated. She is really sick and could die. She is around 60 years old or so. Her two children disowned her long ago so she has her husband, my mom, and a distant cousin and the cousin's son all of who live on the property. The cousin and her son are real losers and my mom hates them but she doesn't want them on the streets, their last roommate threw them out on no notice and threw their stuff on the curb. Without my aunt there the cousin and son will probably be told to leave. My uncle does a lot of work around the property so he will stay.

I'm sorry to hear about that. You can do everything right and still catch it; you can do everything wrong and never be touched by it.

My niece passed away from COVID.

Very sad to hear of your aunt. I hope for health and healing for her. Sometimes difficult family dynamics fade away when life is on the line.

Sorry to hear this. We seem to have forgotten so much of what we were taught about COVID before that I have almost forgotten it.

She is out of the hospital and at home. The doctors put her on IV's and got the vomiting to stop. She is weak and on a liquid diet. But it looks like she will live.
