Hello everyone.. my name is Kristen. My 10 year old son was diagnosed a month ago and this is all new to us. It has been a roller coaster ride for us. I am learning as I go. I have started a blog which has helped me get through a lot. I wanted to join here and reach out to others who are in my shoes. I would really like to makes some friends that understand what I am going trough.

Welcome to AC Kristen. I hope you find some of the answers you're looking for.

Welcome!!
Just try not to speak to much of it too quickly to your son. It may overwhelm him; it would me-- then again, my mom never really explained Aspergers to me. She told me a few years after my diagnosis, which did not help me at all.

Let your son rediscover the world on his own. Hope all works out in the end!!!
Sorry, this probably made no sense, and was very confusing :-/

It made sense ;). We actually told him with the psychologist. That way we did it in a way I knew he would understand. He truly has blossomed in a way after we did that. He seems to feel better knowing there is a name for the way he was feeling and it's ok to be that way.
