Name My Lizard

I could swear he follows me round the house. One day he'll be in my workroom. Next day in the kitchen and he kind of hangs out watching me not seeming at all worried about things. . Moves Very Slowly. Only thing is i want to name him. Thus the title of this thread: name my Lizard.

I think every lizzard I meet get named Lizzy Lizzard. 😅 (The only reason being that they both start with the same sound.)

I have one that lives under my water heater, I call him Larry, after that age old computer game Loungesuit Larry and the Lounge Lizards.

Is is an anole lizard? Do you feed him bugs? He looks like the green and brown lizards I grew up with in Louisiana. They would hang out a lot in the house too.

You could name him Frodo or Dragomir or Lizardo

Are you sure its male? Have you seen a dewlap?

Didn't feed him bugs, and no I'm not sure it's a him. Just has a him ness about him. He moves sooooo slowly, almost like a salamander and he does seem to change color....nature is so miraculous that it would create an animal that changes color.. I gave him a piece of scrambled egg and he went to town on it.

You now have a friend for life. :)

Not sure what country you're in but the shape of that lizard suggests that it's normally a fast moving predator. The slow movement could well be that he can't get his temperature up high enough to be very active, in that case his digestive system is likely to be slow and struggling too so scrambled egg was probably a good idea, easier for him to digest.

As for a name, what's wrong with Fred?

Wiz or whiz , which is both positive and sarcastic. Positive as it is a shortened word of Wizard, and as whiz is a good character trait term, which can mean he could be seen as intelligent or talented for something he does. Whiz can also be sarcastic reference to his slow not fast speed.

Have you determine what kind s/he is?

Lacerta is Latin for lizard. How about Lester?
I agree that Liz is a good female name.
Enola is an anagram of anole.

Anoles can change color like chameleons can.

Lizbet, Betty or Beth if a girl, Felix, Joe or Mo, if a boy, coz then he could be Slow Mo, or Slow Joe or you could call him Zard, short for liZard or Yardy or Lix the Liz (Felix the Lizard).
