Narcan Spray Rant

You know, that one lady we met that one time.

Narcan is a drug that can save the life of a person that is overdosing on opiates. You spray it into the nose of the overdosing individual.

I received some for free today, as a gift, because although I do not abuse drugs, I do know people who do.

I was very, very thankful.

I went online to amazon, to see how much it cost.

It's nearly $120.00 for a 2 dose box of Narcan!!!

We have a homeless crisis around us, much of it caused and exacerbated by awful drugs pouring over our southern border.

And these evil big pharma jerks want to charge $120.00 for a one time supply of Narcan.

I have seen more than one person overdose on heroin right in front of me. It is horrible. I have also had two relatives in the last year and a half die from opiate overdose.

Every person should have access to this drug. It should honestly be in every first aid kit, and carried in purses and in glove boxes.

It's pure evil to charge so much for two tiny squirts of life saving medicine.

Absolutely agree with you! We in the west often say that we see medical care (and this includes medicine like you've described) as a "Human Right", but that's just blowing smoke. Until we offer medical care universally to everyone, no matter what, we should hang out heads in shame that we allow corporations to decide essentially who lives and who does not.

I don't care what anyone says about capitalism or returns on investment yada yada... We aren't truly civilised until we include everyone in the right to care, whoever they are and whatever we may think of them.

In the places I'm from and am currently at, one can obtain it readily from pharmacies for free.

My understanding as well is that very few people pay the full retail price on drugs.
