NATURE, camping, hiking

I like the peaceful feeling of being in nature when there aren't any people making noises, just the sound of water running down a stream or something. I had a peaceful time like this recently by a waterfall not too far from where I live. I really have come to like being in nature most in autumn, like october/november. Its a great feeling, like a long lost home.

The sound of water & waterfalls makes me feel peaceful. A lot of times when I camped I set my tent near a stream. Mellotron that sounds like a beautiful place-waterfall. I love the Summer but Autumn holds a special place in my heart. During Autumn everything looks & smells so good! The air has a bite to it, you get deep blue skies...ahhhh ;D

Outdoors is the only place for me. Water, rocks, dirt and trees, who could ask for more. I have heard it said that it is impossible to be out in nature and be in a bad mood. I know that when I am in a bad mood, that going there makes it go away.
I too love to be by water. And rocks, large rocks. Mountains, bluffs, cliffs, you name it I like it.
I camp, bike, ski, snowshoe, hike, walk and just about everything else that could be considered a silent sport. Thank God for the outdoors.

You can be one with yourself in the outdoors its an awesome place to be birds tweeting sun shinning blue skys and butterflyies all around you

There are many beautiful places around here to hike and go on overnight back-packing trips. I love it. I would be remiss in not saying that my favorite part of it might just be peeing in the woods.

I love the autumn (fall) where the air is crisp and aromatic. In my youth I started seeing my first girlfriend in september and ever since its always been a special time of year. I call it "sweet september blue" because of the blue skies and sweet air.

I love nature because you can go to places that are unspoiled, not clugged up by noise pollution from humans or development. Like people have said, you can really be one with yourself when you are out in nature.

Since moving to Nevada, some of my favorite moments have been in natural places here. I've been to Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge a couple of times, and we literally were the only people in the places were at both times. Not a single other person in sight. The only sounds you could hear were from the running water near the springs and the birds chirping. It was incredibly peaceful.

I think my favourite thing about nature is the smell that rises up from the ground when it's been very dry and it suddenly starts raining again. I love that smell. earthy stoney sort of smell... that's the only way i can think to describe it.

Society bothers and disappoints me. It is so unreasoned and debased. People constantly contradict themselves; cars are so noisy, shiny, and dangerous; and laws bother me.
I feel so tense until I wander into some feral and secret location. the sound of air moving through trees, water cascading, and animals communicating and moving about makes me forget society and never want to return!
I have and will happily sit on the bank of a body of water and totally lose myself watching ripples. Water makes so much sense!

Being a bit of a hermit who lives in the mountains nature is something that I have a deep appreciation for. Trees and animals surround my home, the usual members of the northeastern forests. Black bears are a particular part of nature that fascinates me. There's plenty around and everything about them from the way they move, live, vocalize, etc are truly amazing. Most of my friends are online and it's a bit rural up here and to be honest, I love all weather, even the humid days and walking and hiking keeps me in touch with our planet. I've never camped but it is on my bucket list.

I love walking outdoors on a clear night when the sky is full of stars. The soft breeze on my face, the sound of the waves lapping against the river's shore while the leaves rustle in the wind makes me feel peaceful and calm. I treasure the brief serenity this time alone brings.

Walking and hiking is something I enjoy too. We used to have volksmarch clubs in my area (one in my town) that put on 10 km (6.2 mile) marked walk routes and members would go to all the surrounding events from other clubs. Many were in state parks and hiking trails. Others in historic parts of small towns or cities. Some were on the beaches too. It was a lot of fun but most of them disbanded years ago. Walking clubs are also a good way to meet people if you have any close. Unfortunateley there are none near me now and I haven't found anyone to enjoy walking with. :(

I love the sense of timelessness I feel when I am away from civilization, cities and towns are so busy and everyone seems almost predatory, but in nature even though its tooth and claw it feels right and all my cares just melt away, its a massage for the mind. Being on a beach at dusk is best, just a few people I can get on with, a mug of hot sweet tea, the smell and sound of a campfire, the first stars and sounds of the waves and the odd Owl calling, just magical there is nothing like it anywhere.

So there I was...I had backpacked several days & 25 miles away from Civilization. My legs grew so strong that when I took my pack off I could easily leap from boulder to boulder. At night during a Full Moon I walked away from the campfire...far away till it was time to get back to the fire. Never do that when you are a solo backpacker! You might get hurt & it can be dangerous. But I was young...and my legs were so strong. The air felt a cold electrical charge ofreedom. And the Stars were magnificent. Getting back to the fire, I felt safer.

Now if I can only remember what State & where I was at the time. But it was Wilderness...and I had many more days & miles to go...

Mmmm, love hearing the wind in the trees and smell of earth and foliage. The feeling of being on top of the world when I've climbed a tree or lying in lush green grass looking up at the clouds on a sunny day...oh the possibilities :bounce:

I love relaxing and making things out of whats available. I love to carve statues and weave dolls when I'm camping.

Oh, I love camping. The best part is that there are NO PEOPLE!

It's quiet and peaceful. The sounds, the smells, the visual beauty!

And to camp beside the ocean with the sound of the waves crashing at night, and be able to fish... heaven : )
