Hi there. I'm not very good at introductions, so here's a survey I C&P'ed form another forum.
1) How did you find out you had Asperger's Syndrome? How old were you?
I was officially diagnosed at the age of 4, but my mum didn't tell me until I was 9.
2) How did you feel - what did it mean to you when you found out you had AS?
I was still a bit too young to understand it back then, but I just sort of accepted it.
3) What is your narrow focus of interest? Does it contribute to work or career?
I have a lot of special interests. My favourite at the moment is The Twilight Saga. Career-wise, I'm really into art and I'm currently studying it at college.
4) Do you accept having AS or does it still cause you emotional pain or turmoil? Please explain.
I am actually proud to have AS.
5) Are you in a relationship? How is it going? Is it stressful?
No.
6) If you are not in a relationship - do you want to be or do you like being single?
Depends on the type of boy. Ideally, I'd like to go out with someone with AS like me. I'd rather be single than go out with the creepy NT chavvy type (been there, done that, don't wanna go back).
7) What stresses you the most?
Change.
8) Do you have a lot of anxiety? If so, how do you cope with it?
I have good times and bad times. When I have bad times, I fight with my parents, but we give each other space and it's usually back to normal the next day.
9) Do you often get over-stimulated? What causes that? How do you cope with that?
II'm very sensetive to loud noise.
10) Do you have difficulty socializing? Why? Do you want to socialize and yet not want to deal with its stress? Explain?
Put it this way: People who don't know me think I'm quiet. People who do know me wish I was.
