I’m new here, 60-yr-old woman self-diagnosed after younger relatives diagnosed. I’ve always been highly verbal and seeking connection but I’m often disliked or seen as angry, even when I don’t feel angry. Family members avoid me. It all makes sense now. I’m highly educated and talented and have a good job but I’m often harmed by “mean girl” types. I got away with more when I was younger and cuter.

Hi and welcome. It's good that you are here, hopefully you will feel more understood here and will find others who know how it is for you. I think it's helpful to know I am different from neurotypical people, and understand that can cause communication issues between them and myself, this helps build strategies that are useful in navigating the world, for me. I'm 64.

Welcome aboard!
I wasn't diagnosed until my mid-fifties. I'm 65 now.
It does feel like a family group here. That's why I try to check in daily.

How do you Welcome a Board anyway?

Welcome. I just turned 69 and didn’t discover I was autistic until I was 64. That explained a lot of things in my life.
