New Year, anyone? 2021

Just interested if anyone has any specific plans or things they're looking forward to in 2021.

Any changes they'd like to make this year?
Any habits they'd like to give up?
What they'd like to see happen during the course of 2021?

More decent hard working dependable , slightly wonky people makin more funny videos for you tube. A new great work bringing together as many goofy anime and bad lip synch videos as possible into one channel. A new community of techno wizards and literary geniuses scouring the net to provide daily recommendations of things that will make me giggle, groan and snicker

I resolve to hook up the old computer and finally gat those awesome pictures off it.

Happy New Year. :)

01. Lose weight, get a new job and avoid getting Covid.
02. Cut back on the chocolate.
03. Things return to some level of pre-Covid mentality.

Good post. Practice more adulting and continue with mediation. Support others who need good affirmations at this forum. Maybe finally try class for standup comedy at least in my dreams.
Pray my boss doesn't retire, she is great to work for.

A job... Some career direction, if even possible these days

And I need to have a better attitude about Covid restrictions and such, effect on the economy (re: job search), but it's not easy, something about major change in my life that still has me very uneasy...

My #1 this year is also a new job. Spent a lot of 2020 working my butt off trying to building up a better skill set and I’m looking forward to that paying off.

My goals are to not drink any more alcohol, and also to lose about 50lbs. The second goal will be easy if I stick to my first goal, since as many people have told me earlier, beer is essentially nothing but liquid carbs.

Waiting to see how the COVID vaccine works and how those who are
ahead of me in the order of getting it react.
I am rather afraid of it, but, it will be a long time before my turn comes.

I need a knee replacement, but, don't want the operation, hospital stay
and rehab right now due to the pandemic.
So, a new knee for me if things improve.

I'm really excited for the year ahead and I have absolutely no idea why.
Just feel it in my bones.

I too wonder about the speed at which the various vaccines were developed but more specifically the amount of profit involved for the companies developing them.
I'm expecting to see Will Smith and his dog walking down the empty streets with a cure for the vaccine :)

@Mia, a fantastic catering opportunity.
Make your brand natural, fresh, wholesome and healthy and charge a small fortune for it to support your new gambling habits, dancing lessons and house renovations :)
Pitch your method of working to the boss. Hang it on the back of having to remain healthy in these current times.
If the boss declines, nothing much lost.

Whilst I have some goals, and hoping to change my mindset so that I’m 1. More positive and 2.dont get too upset/angry about personal past because I can’t change any of it but can change my future and be less...bitter, angry and upset about certain things that happened last year (2020) and random past hurts that I couldn’t let go of...I didn’t make any concrete resolutions like making friends, being outgoing etc.. I made them last year and 2020 was just uncertain threw much of those goals away. But due to current mental health status, I’m taking a day at a time, I’m exercising more, and I’ve started a new course that I’m hopeful will add to my qualifications and experiences although I’ll definitely will be expanding on that area too. As for covid, and living with a very at risk vulnerable person (mom), I have to wait and see...but for now I think it’s best if I let go of past hurts, slights and stuff...it makes me crazy that I keep hold of that and it does impact greatly on looking forward. Continue the positive steps I took last year, and try to actually do more creative arts.

Buy more lottery tickets, with the goal of being more hopeful about life. Life is a lottery ticket. We go out everyday with hope and Covid actually helped a few of us realize we are stronger then we thought.

Survival, I suppose.

Though I'm unable to conclude whether being conscientious or just plain lucky has contributed to my continued existence as a senior citizen in a pandemic.

It doesn't help that being in Nevada's third tier of those being initially vaccinated likely means April or May at the very earliest. So for better or worse, the best I can do under such circumstances is just live "one day at a time" and little else.

Hmm...new year.
  • Celebrate how much better the astrology looks for this year (Western astrologers had been going on about the dire perils of 2020 decades before it came around).

  • See how my oldest (16) responds to the weighted blanket I just ordered them with my stimulus money.

  • Get my younger (13) kid one if he tries it and it helps him out, too.

  • Replace the sunken futon mattress I've been sleeping on for the past 5 years.

  • Stop measuring my overall worth by how well I can tolerate pain, discomfort, emotional turmoil, and sacrifice. (It will annoy my family to see me so "selfish" but hey. Happiness. And also yes, family, that has always bothered me. Sorry not sorry.)

  • Try a scheduled diet regimen now that I understand proprioceptive hyposensitivity and its effects on hunger/satiety cues. Edit: Interoception, whoops.

  • Get a dark shower curtain so we no longer go blind cleaning ourselves!

The move I've been planning for in some form since 2007 will FINALLY happen in Feb/Mar. By summer I hope to be well on my way to reasonable levels of self-sufficiency. And it's just in time too, since I think that 2020 was just the start of the Big One-the implosion of our petroleum-dependent civilization.

My 2021 will be spent learning how to live off the land and gradually reducing my dependence on civilization. By fall 2021 it will likely be getting extremely bad, with sheriff deputies routinely being murdered while serving evictions by people with nothing to lose. Food riots, massive shantytowns, and the politicians ranting at the cameras so they look productive while planning to flee.

Good luck :) Hope it all works out how you'd like it to.
