I'm not really sure what socializing with other aspies is going to be like....but I'm dipping my toe in the proverbial water.

I always get bad reactions when I try to become part of a community...but maybe this is a community of people with problems with communities. And maybe it will be different.

I've been run off of several websites...it's as though they can smell that i am different, right through the internet. My family found and gave me as AS identity card, to show police in case I am ever stopped. The card says I am easily mistaken for acting suspiciously, and I guess that must be true, although I never know exactly what it is I am doing that leads people to that conclusion

Hey welcome to AC! As everyone before has said welcome come join the water games. We're a great group and very tolerant and understanding with all the diagnosis' or lack thereof that are here. We are a very supportive, informative group. Hang around have some fun. We're great!:)

Don't underestimate the potential for being viewed as "suspicious." I once got pulled over for broken tail lights, and they wanted to search my truck because I "looked nervous." I wonder if I can get ahold of one of those cards (that an officer might actually take seriously).

(P.S. New feller here - please be gentle!)

Diagnosed two months in. Actually is a relief. I have struggled for forty+ years. It is nice to know I am not alone.

Thank you for the warm welcome!
