No one is alone (into the woods) cover

My honest opinion.
You got off on a rocky start but settled into a soul-filled rhythm. Do you really need to read the lyrics?
Overall I thought you did real good. I have tried to capture my flute playing on webcam and I think I sound like I am blowing into a toilet paper roll. Anyone who has the courage to record themselves is OK in my book!
Bravo!

I think we as a community need to give this member a little shout out for her latest video.

Come on AC...I think she deserves a standing ovation :)

I hate to be a spoilsport, but as a classically trained singer, and a semi-professional musician, I've found several issues. Please, don't get offended, as I'm coming from 40 years experience.

First, your intonation (pitch) leaves a bit to be desired. I'm not sure if it's because the sing is too high for your voice, or if you're having problems hearing where your pitch is in the accompiament. Sondheim is never easy in that regard.

2. You seem to be unsure about rhythm. I noticed quite a few times you flubbed an entrance due to the rhythms. Sondheim is a lot like Leonard Bernstein when it comes to strange rhythms. With more practice, you should get it.

3. It sounds like you're just singing words, and not conveying content. The melody has to flow. It has to tell a story. Right now, it's too choppy.

Overall, I don't think you're too comfortable with the song. I think you need to "live with it" some more until you get the idea. You might want to listen to the original cast recording and listen to Kim Crosby's interpretation to get what I mean.

Otherwise, keep at it. You'll eventually get it.

Thank you for your advice

This is how I am practicing do you think I'm getting better do you think I'll hit the notes ?

What other songs do you recommend for my voice?

I really I love to sing and I was in the same program for a while the children and teens haven't been the program in a few years so It's good to have someone here that knows singing well.

What type of songs do you prefer? Broadway, standards, religious, opera, oratorio, scat, jazz?

I don't know your voice well enough to know what you're comfortable with. If I were you, I'd hire a good voice teacher and good vocal coach. If you haven't had them in the past, a piano teacher would be a good idea.

I like Brodway songs.
