hope this one not exists so far. found nothing on the search bar and metalheads threads.

I like pistachio the most. but they taste always very different, some even taste moldy. so it´s like a random generator lol. but that´s so interesting on them, they all taste different sometimes, even when all in one package. I also like cashew and macadamia very much. and sometimes pecan. sadly, they are also the most expensive nuts.

only 10 answers are possible, sadly no things like "burnt almonds" or "spicy flavor" or "with wasabi."

what´s the one you like the least?

hazelnuts and peanuts are the most cheap here. I don´t like hazelnuts, because they are so bitter.

It’s difficult to narrow down three favorites, perhaps suggesting I have no “favorite“ at all. Nuts are a main staple of my diet. I think I like to pretend I am still a hunter and gatherer and must find seeds and nuts along the way through the day.

I enjoy all of the ones on the list, but go for the most densely nutritious and affordable.

I eat nuts regularly, because they are healthy and tasty and while eating macadamia nuts I had the idea for this thread.

Cashews, followed by pistachios and almonds. Then peanuts. I don't like walnuts because they taste bitter. Pistachios grow where I live, I also like to eat them unprocessed.

Nut trivia (no actual citations, take it with a grain of salt, please.):

Goober Peas = Peanuts (also, obviously, legumes, not nuts)

Most Brazil nuts are from Bolivia.

And this…

We have lots of chestnuts where I am from and they come in these very spiky shells. It’s a wonder that the squirrels decide to open them up for the nuts within.

A bit more about hazelnuts for anyone that is interested.

When I was visiting Oregon, I had the chance to walk around on this hazelnut farm and it was really cool.

It reminds me of a thread on here where people were talking about the way the sunlight shines through an orchard with long, even rows of trees. Depending on how you look at it, the perspective changes quite dramatically among the hazelnut trees all in order.

One more bit of trivia. Macadamia nuts are native and unique to Australia but today the world's largest producer is Hawaii. Typical of my country, we never bothered to capitalise on any of the great opportunities this country gives us.

Now we have worries that due to extremely poor environmental policies the native trees are dying out and soon we will only have the newer commercially bred strains left.

I never heard of Paranut before, but it is actually my favorite. We called them Brazil nuts. Beastly tough to get into though.

Not really fond of cashews, pecans and hazelnuts, But I eat them all if thats all we have. I guess better to have 'eh' nuts then no nuts.

I´m surprised that most people here don´t like macadamia nuts that much : D is it available in your country?

pistachios are king. it´s confirmed now. lol.

I chose pistachios, cashews and pecans, but I quite like hazelnuts, and brazils. However I rarely eat any nuts, just in muesli usually. I like peanut butter and chocolate hazelnut spread and marzipan... but again, rarely eat any of those. Mainly because I perceive nuts and nut products to be quite high calorie and fatty. But that depends on how much of them one eats I guess. My guilty pleasure is potato crisps. Also popcorn.

Just peanuts, but more specifically peanut butter. I love honey roasted peanuts and dry roasted salted peanuts too. I do like almond-based products like marzipan and almond milk but I'm not so crazy about the almonds by themselves. Same with hazelnut, I love hazelnut coffee, nutella, and chocolate bars, but I don't think I've ever eaten a hazelnut by itself.

I Googled "dry salted peanuts" to try to find a picture of the package I have, but I accidentally typed "dry salted peanus." Fortunately it was enough of a typo that it didn't pull up something that would traumatize me. Lol

I love macadamia nuts, but they don’t love me. A handful is enough to give me intense intestinal pain and explosive diarrhea. So here’s your portion of TMI for the day :D

Not rating that "funny" because of the intestinal pain, that's awful, it was more the delivery of this post, plus the smiley face, lol. Hope I didn't offend you.

No offense taken at all. My IBS is the gift that keeps on giving and laughing at my own misfortune is my main form of entertainment ;)

I like walnuts, pecans, pistachios.
Peanuts are my least favourite.
I have to laugh when I tell people they are legumes and they've never even heard the word.

The biggest nut of all is ME. :p
