Obsessed with the Guitar - HELP!

Jordan

Technology Advocate
So I am obsessed with my guitar. I can play basic tunes. I have been learning how to play The Simpsons theme tune with the E string. I have a Classical Acoustic Guitar. Not the electric type. :)

I am way off becoming advanced in guitar playing as I just started. But at least I have got far into playing a little tune on 1E. I can almost slightly play a bit of James Bond Theme Tune on 6E.

I haven't learnt any chords yet. And I am debating on using GuitarBots because it doesn't pick up the notes properly. Where can I go for lessons that track your progress online?

Are there any good guitar lessons that are free, and are interactive? Other than GuitarBots?

I was in your position not too long ago, I highly recommend: Justin Guitar | Free Guitar Lessons for a free source of high quality guitar education.
Alongside his free videos, which number in the hundreds, he also has a wide variety of books that also cover things such as musical theory (something that can often be helpful with guitar).
While the videos don't necessarily track your progress, the book found here: PR-111 • Justin's Beginner Guitar Method (4 DVD Box Set) | free guitar lesson from justinguitar.com follows the video course and you can manually track your progress. (There is also an intermediate course as well as many others; you should check out his other books and videos)
In my opinion it's the best free guitar education you can get, and also strongly competes many of the paid resources online.

Good luck with guitar!
