Obsession with anxiety causing more anxiety; how to stop?

I think I falling into a new obsession. Normally I'm fine with that but this one is my anxiety. Thinking about it just causes more anxiety. I don't want to end up feeling like this for two to three years which is how long my obsessions usually last. Any advice on how I can stop this one before it starts or how I can find something else to possibly become obsessed with?

Oh yes...I've known that well. Where just the anticipation of an anxiety attack causes the attack. Or makes it happen faster...where you become a self-fulfilled prophecy.

I can only say that I have great suspicion that reducing my anxiety has a great deal to do with an enhanced sense of self-confidence combined with reducing my contact with people in general, largely the result of being self-employed. I used to break out into a cold sweat whenever I had to talk to a stranger, or if a stranger approached me unexpectedly. I got better over the years, but haven't actually had what I'd call a real "attack" in many years.

I like to think that large doses of "peace of mind" are the best remedy to such things. However, whenever you can obtain it.
