Luc Ienn
Friendly Neighborhood Skullbird
Heya! I’m Luc (like how you’d pronounce for Jean Luc Picard or Luc Besson, I think? I pronounce it “Luke”). Dont worry too much about the Ienn part. It’s from my middle name “Lucien“ which I lazily but ”ingeniously” cut into two parts, and then went to pronounce it completely different from how you’d expect it to be pronounced.
Uhh, tmi about my username aside, I am struggling to figure out ways to describe myself and my interests. I’d say I enjoy video games, game theory (like, the construction of games), existential thoughts about the nature of the world and the functions of society, as well as writing, “wishing I could code to make a video game”, and “wishing I had art skills and sometimes drawing something”. Passing but reoccurring interests include architecture, photography, and architectural photography.
My autism, you may ask? Was diagnosed with Aspergers when I was 16, a couple years before DSM-V destroyed it. I had some anger about the erasure at the time, but I’ll be frank: I don’t know anymore if I have ”Aspergers” or “HFA” or if either are “real” or not (as in, if the names they have and the traits they’re known for are specific to them or not). Just dunno tbh, but I’m definitely on the spectrum. Maybe a few spectrums (I wanna see if I might have Au-ADHD, but I won’t claim it until I know more and get screened).
Coming to this forum is a blast from the past, but also a relief. I’ve been hoping to find a decent community for talking about living with autism (as well as having a place where I can be open about it) and this place seems cool from the posts I’ve been reading. It’s been…hah, nearly half my life since I was in a forum. The last forum I was a part of was a Metroid forum that is now indefinitely closed. Hoping to make better memories here than the cringe teenage me did in that forum, hahaha!
