Old episode of The Bill (UK Police based drama) about Down's kids.

Topic.

I have a lot of experience from school and College of interacting with people with Down's Syndrome, they're lovely people who can be quite comical sometimes, some people think they're daft, or a bit simple but they're far from it.

Anyway, in this episode there was a character, a young DS girl called Shauna, who turned out to be pregnant after being examined by a Police Doctor, and she said the father was some bloke called Dave, it turned out it wasn't him, but another DS lad called Peter.

I do know that in some cases, DS lads are impotent and can't have kids, but they might not have used this for the story line.

Anyway, does anyone else on here know anyone with DS?

I know several people with Downs Syndrome traits. Beautifuly warm-hearted people.

I don't know any DS people personally right now but I've known a few in my time and worked with a lovely downs girl in my 20s. I had to stick up for her a couple of times. She was clever, but quite fragile of heart.
There's a Shielings school near where I live so we often see downs teens & 20s in town, usually with an escort, and its' despicable the way some of these very middle class people round here look down their noses or hold their breath when they walk by.

Yeah my best mate at College was a guy from Stoke on Trent called Paul, who had DS, that lad used to crack me up sometimes, we had a lot in common as well, both big movie buffs into WWE.

I friended him on Facebook last year, but he's hardly ever on, apparently he's married now, funny that, he always used to tease me about getting married, wanted me to shack up with a girl called Diane Morgan from College, but she was a London girl, from Welwyn Garden City, I did like her though, we were just too different and she had another friend from London.

Plus if we'd got hitched it would be confusing because Mum's called Diane Allen as well, so Diane Morgan would've had to go double-barrelled, called Diane Morgan-Allen or something.

Good job you're not gay and fell in love with a guy called Alan Richards... That would get complicated!

Meh, I've been accused of being gay purely because I watch WWE.

Which according to uneducated plebs is all "sweaty men in tights hugging each other"

Contrary to popular opinion however, I am NOT a gay, nor do I protest too much.

Rich - it was a joke about names. Wherever this opinion of you being gay "because you watch WWE" is "popular" I assure you it's not in this community so you don't need to keep reminding us. You react like it's an insult, which isn't very kind to the many friends we have on here who are gay or otherwise oriented.

So some childish bullies picked on you and made up some nonsense which you took to heart - let it go in here. Almost every sport is performed by sweaty men in skimpy or tight fitting clothes, not just WWE. Nobody's going to do it to you on this forum and if, by some freak of circumstance, it did happen, the mods would stomp on it hard. Heck if I saw someone bullying you or calling you names you found hurtful I'd report it myself!

I don't think anybody here thinks you are anything other than a heterosexual cis male and I assure you very few if any of us would care in the slightest about which way you swing anyway.
