One person in my life that has been good to me

Have one person in my life that has been good to me,an ex co worker of mine.We have a good friendship to this day,he is retired now.I was 16 at the time working at an auto repair shop and there were a couple of the employees that were snickering and giving me bad looks. He saw I had Asperger's and defended me telling them do not make fun of me.Was on my 2nd day there doing oil changes as my first after school job.Boss witnessed him what he did and appraisal him. Those 2 got fired on the spot. Also helped me out in times.I had a cheapee long handled ratchet in 3/8 drive that broke on me.Came out of the Snap On tool truck with a new long handle ratchet and handed it to me.Said he bought it for me and I still have it which still works.I was not afraid to come over to ask him questions once in a while and helped me out.It was even him coming over showing me another way to get to thing.I helped him out as well, saw I had smaller hands getting in spot. One was a bolt he needed started and I got it in.Was there for 2 years and that is when we still kept in touch.Said anyone with a disability should never be taunted, teased and picked on

Not wishing to derail this thread, but seeing as you mentioned queenie... I don't like it when she's referred to as special. Most of us, given her wealth, would do a lot more with it. A couple of months changing oil in the army, and then back to being waited on by servants. She's no more or less special than the rest of us.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. I have a handful of people in my life that have been good to me. Sometimes I think I forget that.

Are you still working on cars?

There’s something very peaceful about automobiles, particularly the oldest ones that have no computers. The basics are there without any noise. And even when they’re making noise, it becomes easy to separate the sounds and figure out what’s going on.

Not so much like life in today’s world.
