I shall never leave California. Y'all should evacuate Earth. Does the moon have weather?

@Yeshuasdaughter

A very cold Christmas weekend is forecast in Alberta and much of the Canadian prairies... -22 Celsius on Christmas Day, -25 to -28 for the following few days... Sadly those are my only four days off between shifts at work... Cold weather photography here we come, depending on how long I can last being outdoors in cold weather...

Depending on how you define a white Christmas, virtually every year here in Alberta there is snow on the ground, and some years actual snowfall... And I've seen plenty of rather cold Christmas Day's here, including the forecast for this year...

The Christmas weather forecast for the Deep South is warm, maybe some rain. Thank goodness. I can tell the grandkids to play outside instead of rampaging through the house all hyped up on sugar and Christmas excitement. If it rains, they can play in the barn. I'm getting too old for this. :(

Here in the Great Lakes the lake effect snow machine is ramping up. Air travelling across the inland seas picks up moisture and as it travels onto land, rises, cools down, and dumps on us. The average snowfall around me for a winter is over 150 inches.

Der Bingle Cometh! Apparently so will snow on our valley floor in time for Christmas.

Lake Michigan and Lake Superior temperatures are at a 25-year high. Climate change? The greater the temperature difference between the air and the water, the more lake effect snow. The NOAA maps are showing an increase in lake effect snowfalls in the upper peninsula and the upper part of the "mitten" over the past 30 years. Not a lot of change in the lower, western part of the state, but with a trend towards slightly less over the same time period.

Currently, it's snowing pretty good here in Byron Center,...just south of Grand Rapids.

“ A very cold arctic air-mass will descend into the region for much
of next week. High temperatures could range from the negative
single digits to single digits, which would equate to 30 to 40
degrees below normal for this time of year. Low temperatures could
even be colder, perhaps as much as 10 to 20 degrees below zero.
We have low confidence but one or two days later next week, some
locations could even get colder, approaching 30 to 40 degrees
below zero. People need to start getting prepared for this
elongated period of cold. Make sure your vehicles will be able to
withstand cold soaking below zero (i.e. coolant rated to 40 below
zero Fahrenheit). Make sure you have an appropriate amount of fuel
for heating your home. Please visit weather.gov/safety/cold for
more suggestions on how you can prepare for this arctic blast. “

Which area of the country is this referring to? Looks like in Oregon the temp could drop as low as 20°, but I don’t see anything online about single digits or below zero temperatures here.

Hey mister, there’s a whole bunch of snow on the ground where my friend in Northern California lives, and they’re meant to get more over the next week.

…electric, do you have a butane stove you can use indoors?
I might go to the hardware store & buy a camp stove & fuel. Probably - if I have to - I’ll set it up in the laundry toom with the window open for the fumes. Because, if it gets as cold as they are predicting, there is no way I could go outside to cook.
Thank you for the good thoughts & prayer.
