Parents heartbroken after group of students take their autistic son's water bottle in the locker room and PEE in it
  • Incident occurred Monday at Folsom High School in California
  • Michael Lozano, 14, was getting changed in the locker room for gym
  • His bottle was taken and then returned, but he realized it was yellow
  • He poured it out and realized it was actually urine
  • Michael's parents reported what happened but they said the school has not taken it very seriously

A couple in California say they have been left devastated after a group of students took their autistic son's water bottle and urinated in it at school.

The parents, Hilda and Ricardo Lozano, said the incident with their 14-year-old son Michael occurred at Folsom High School, and that the administrators have not handled it in a satisfactory manner.

The two say Michael was in gym class and getting changed in the locker room when someone took his water bottle.

'He said he smelled it ... and it smelled bad and then he poured it out in the drain holes inside of the gym so the water goes in, and it was yellow and foamy,' Mrs Lozano told Fox 40.

Mr and Mrs Lozano were actually at the school for a meeting about their son's autism when Michael called them and told them what happened.

Mrs Lozano told her son to bring the bottle straight to the office where they were having their meeting.

Devastated: Hilda Lozano says the officials at Folsom High School have not properly handled the way her autistic son was treated by other students in the locker room

However, she says Vice Principal Annie Conover stopped Michael before he got to the office.

'Apparently the school's vice principal took the bottle from him, poured out the urine and then washed the bottle with soap and water and then sent him to me,' she told Fox.

Then, after the meeting, Mrs Lozano could not find the principal. A school official told her that all the principals was in a meeting together and were not available.

'Their attitude was ''we'll get around to it when we get to it'',' Mr Lozano said.

'When we get out of our meetings and do stuff, then we'll address your concerns.

'That's the perception we got, which I'm pretty sure if they had children in their school and they were special needs and someone had urinated in their kids' water bottle, they would think it's an urgent concern.'

The incident occurred on Monday at Folsom High School in California and is now under investigation, according to officials

Daniel Thigpen with the Folsom Cordova Unified School District, told FOX40 in a statement that the incident was under investigation.

'In general, I can tell you that our schools take seriously such allegations; complaints such as these will be investigated fully, and appropriate action will be taken in any case where a student has been found to bully or harm another child.

'In this case, my understanding is that administration is aware of the allegation, has met with the parent who authored this social media post, and has launched an investigation.

'As in all investigations involving potential student discipline, I cannot discuss specific details in order to protect the privacy of students involved.'

"There will be appropriate consequences," said Daniel Thigpen, spokesman for the Folsom Unified School District. "Again the investigation has to be fully complete and I wouldn't be able to specify the exact nature of it. The school has a whole range of options including suspension or expulsion."

People in the community reached out and students wore blue ribbons for her son to show their support against bullying.

"We were sad but also our hearts were full because you see these stories on TV but you never think it's going to happen to you and the kindness of this community is amazing," Lozano said.

Thanks for the update. :)

Locker rooms are terrible places if your a target for bullies. You are too vulnerable. A class mate of mine had his school clothes stolen from his P.E locker and placed in a toilet filled with excrement, and urine. He had to ware his gym clothes the rest of the day. the P.E teacher did nothing to the students who were responsible, as they were foot ball players and the teachers favorites. What a world we live in, my heart goes out to that boy and his family.
