I have a hard time with large groups of people. Plus I have trouble making out what people are saying if there's a lot of noise.

I prefer smaller groups of people I mostly already know.

Other: No Party

Not to poop on someone’s party. Just much rather work on my own thing, whatever it may be.

Kirk: "Spock, what's a party poll doing in an autistic community website?"
Spock: "Beats me, Jim. But you humans are a strange and illogical lot."
Kirk: "So I've been told. Two to beam up, Scotty!"

For me it's more about the duration i enjoy staying in the different scenarios, which goes down very quickly as the people count/noice level goes up.... and that ends in me entering a place, looking up, thinking "nope" and exiting again...

What kind of parties do you enjoy throwing or attending?
You know (or should know by now) that I cannot socialize, no matter how much I want to. No parties for me. And that is not even touching the crowd and noise factor. I do enjoy your polls, though.

I party with my dogs.

I get them all worked up and then throw the ball around and they bounce all over the place and then they get treats.

What's that? People? No, none of those involved.

I love to cook for my family so small dinner parties are what I usually do. I don't like loud, crowded parties, especially when people are getting drunk.

I also marked "other" because I usually enjoy parties for specific holidays. Cinco de Mayo is May 5. I'll cook Mexican food and play Santana and other music by Mexican artists.

Great poll, as always, @Metalhead

A small tea party with no more than 4 - 5 people (friends and/or family) maximum.

My idea of heaven. Good Mexican food, with audible Latin/Spanish guitar music in the background. With my closest circle of real friends. Preferably no more than four humanoids. (Dogs welcomed.)

There's even an Internet Radio channel/station that plays guitarist John Williams' music:

I like hosting sober pizza and gaming parties with my small group of local friends. Come over to my place, have a couple of slices, and play some split screen co-op with me.

Work parties!
But not as in parties involving coworkers!

But, as in me and a couple of friends brainstorming and wrenching on a particular vehicle.
Or getting together for a community cleanup in one of the many very low income neighborhoods here.
Both of these are accompanied with good quality danceable music!

I like that, too. Recently, we rounded up children, grandkids, nephews, nieces, and in-laws for a workday at our lake. One of my nephews owns a landscaping company so he brought some heavy equipment to clear young trees and bushes from the dam, and then the guys burned it after I called the forestry commission to get a fire permit. We have to keep trees off the dam.
Meanwhile, some of us set up a campfire and cooked burgers and hot dogs and brought salads and cold drinks. We put the kids to work with clippers to snip limbs from overhanging trees. We cleaned up the place and made plans for Memorial Day weekend to replace the rotting wooden deck on top of the pier where we like to fish and where two of my nieces were married. I bought a new metal garbage can for the lake, too.

I can't remember any huge crowded parties, except my parent's anniversary one time. It was a lot of people in a upscale hotel ballroom in Seattle. That was extremely painful as one guest clearly spoke up about my father's mistreatment of ne very loudly. Then the exact same situation occurred at another family get-together which was worse then the anniversary parparty. Sometimes the best celebrations are just between two people.
