special needs colleges or courses are good but they are few and far between for anyone over 25 because of the removal of funding from the government, they assume your either fully functioning at 25 or you need to go into a day centre as you clearly cant be 'saved' by education.
are you in the UK?
i dont know if its the same thing, but ive been to several special needs colleges,i got expelled from one for my behavior and was almost made to leave the other as my autism and needs were so complex, the best one i went to was the david lewis centre in cheshire, it is for people with classic autism who also have learning [intellectual] disability and epilepsy.
its a huge campus like the ones they show on american tv.
i did animal therapy and care, and i spent time in the therapy pool and jacuzzi,as well as the sensory room and their day centre.
i loved it there as most of us were padded helmet wearers and it wasnt looked at as a bad/weird thing, like society does.
i had to stop going as i couldnt afford the diesel there on top of the fees for the college, and not all driving support staff were capable of driving there, i couldnt get funding for it as its out of borough in cheshire.
