People who chew ice

MonolithImmortal

Well-Known Member
I used to work at fast food restaurant who served small crushed ice instead of big cubed ice, and every day we'd have people come in and ask for cups, and sometimes even bags of ice. These people wanted to get ice just to chew it/crush it with their teeth.

OH GOD THE HORROR!

I can not even fathom what foul demons posses people who like to crush ice with their teeth. If there were such thing as a personalized hell, I'd be put in a room with a cooler full of ice that never melts and be told that I was free to leave after I'd chewed up ever last piece of ice.

I have no idea if this is an ASD related thing or if I just REALLY hate everything about the idea of chewing ice.

I do that sometimes, chewing the ice that's in my drink. I wouldn't come and take a whole bag (or even cup) of it though. Especially since my teeth hurt from the cold after a few...

I don't really judge those who do though, to each their own :)

Could be ASD related though, because of sensitivities.

I hate the sound of anyone eating loud. Including myself. Lets face it we all do it. Its impossible to eat silently. We just dont notice it unless someone else is doing it.

Those freaks who eat in the street. Worse than going to the toilet in the street.

People who do any of the following are literally Satan:
  • Bite their fingernails
  • Clip their toenails on the train
  • Chew anything with their mouth open

Aside from those who do it because they enjoy it, some people chew ice
because they are anemic.

I hate ice I won't even have it in my drinks (except whenI to Spain). Oddly though two of my aspirations friends find it comforting to eat ice.

It sounds like you worked at Sonic. Everyone loves eating their ice. The feel of compacting small frozen morsels between your teeth before obliterating them is addictive. If it wasn't damaging to teeth I would do it all the time.

Actually, Zaxby's. Same ice more or less.

I don't know about that... seems like it would be painful.

I used to enjoy crushing ice cubes in summer drinks but did not like the loud sound in my own head let alone from other people. Sucking really crushed ice like in slushies is better - ice without the noise. :D

Loud eating is a pet peeve of mine. It's like my brain is falling apart when I hear chewing, sucking, licking, breathing, etc.

Not in the street, though.

Please don't tell me you don't chew ice in the street!
Weeeell, I suppose if I bought a drink with ice on a hot day and sat out in the street to drink it I would, but I hate being surrounded by moving strangers so that's unlikely to happen. I do chew the ice cubes that come in drinks in restaurant though :tongueclosed:
Interesting about the low iron thing, I have low iron, but that's only a recent development and I've been chewing ice since I was a child.
