Everyone is saying to lift weights. I just do cardio and love it. I love walking. I do love using the bike and treadmill, but now for 2 months all I have been doing is staying around 250 to 255 pounds (115.67 kg). Even after walking from my house in Brooklyn to midtown Manhattan now for a month, I only lost 2 pounds (0.91 kilogram). But I have no idea what weights to lift at Planet Fitness, or even what weight. YouTube is useless, just men and some women showing off their bodies on how they lost the weight, but not actually telling you what to do.

Well done on the weight loss. Yes lifting is very effective for that Are you able to get PT for a couple of sessions just to show you proper form and give you an appropriate lifting routine tailored to your ability? It's important to get it right as their are plenty of way to injure yourself weight lifting. Always warm up. Stop if you get any shooting pains.and never curve your back. (Obvious I know)

Reminds me of a popular and ridiculous meme:

"What I've learned from elephants, hippos, and cattle,...you cannot eat plants, walk, and lose weight."

IRL: Partially true. The best dieters in the world, with the lowest body fat %, competitive bodybuilders, do not do a lot of cardio. Obviously, there are pros and cons to this method. A more balanced approach may be better represented by the CrossFit method.

To perhaps ask someone at the gym for tips who seems open to it. Then after you have tried different machines, different weights such as free weights, you end up gravitating towards your favorite go-to eexercises. You also need to exercise core muscles -belly and lower back as this creates less stress on your back muscles. But walking is great exercise. It's great you enjoy walking, l loved walking in LA, so much to see. New York city must be quite interesting to walk around in. Maybe time to pull a little bit back in carbs, (pasta, bread, rice), and aim for lean protein, (beans, legumes, low fat cuts of meat, more eggs, low fat cottage cheese, mozzarella). Winter is great for bullion cubes and a little cut potatoes, frozen vegetables, and quite filling. Take you favorite food choices and try to find healthy versions of them. Black bean burgers for hamburgers, sweet potato noodles, Korean brand, for spaghetti, my guy loves these noodles, low carb, low calorie
