Greetings, humanoid beings, I'm Selcouth, both as a pronoun and an adjective.
To get down to business... I'm here because I've suspected that I have Asperger's for a while, and my suspicion was - not quite cemented, but certainly hardened... shall we say congealed? - when my psych teacher gave a lecture on the syndrome, including several anecdotes and detailed descriptions from her time as a therapist, which included working with kids on the spectrum. It sounds kind of clich?, but I was kind of having flashbacks as that lecture went on - nearly every memory of my early life, especially in elementary school, began to make sense, and I understood much better why I'd behaved the way I'd behaved in certain situations.
That being said, no one has officially diagnosed me as of yet, so it may turn out I'm simply extremely what they call "nerdy." But I doubt it.
A little more about me... I'm fifteen, going to college next fall (double majoring in astrophysics and linguistics,) fascinated by, in addition to astrophysics and linguistics, neurology, artificial intelligence, creative writing (I stick to writing hard sci-fi short stories, though, sort of Bradbury-style but of course nowhere near as good), chemistry, the medieval era, LGBT studies, film, humans, the Question to the Answer to Life the Universe and Everything, and whether the moon is actually made of green cheese. Armstrong never said.
Anyway, I look forward to engaging in conversation with you people. I'm not very good at goodbyes, so let me just turn on my rocket shoes and... *pchoooooooo*
