Re: My film collection (feel free to post yours as well)

Wow - voluminous collection. My own is very, very small. I do not allow myself to spend earned money on movies because I do not think I have that much money and I consider movies nonessential. Furthermore, when I had more friends I watched them very rarely. Nevertheless, lately I have been using all of my gift cards to buy movies because I watch them all the time. The collection is still pitiful:

Documentaries:
Winged Migration
The Art of Violin

Fiction:
Cats (video of stage production)
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
Das Boot
Emperor's New Groove, The
Incredibles, The
Meet Me in St. Louis
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
Music Man, The
Princess Mononoke
Rattatoille
Shrek II
Spirited Away
Up
Wall-E
Wolf's Rain Disc 1

Well, you can see what I like...
I want to add some of the older Disney films soon.

Avatar (I nearly forgot that one!)

I still haven't seen that! Apparently it's being re-released in cinema soon.

I also have that on DVD.

Transformer movies (what was I thinking?!)

I have the Revenge of the Fallen or whatever it is called on Blu-ray. It looks good with the special effects but I find it boring.

Saving Private Ryan

I also have this on DVD.

Re: My film collection (feel free to post yours as well)

I don't have many movies. My mum just rents from Red Box. We rarely ever buy movies, and the ones we do have are kinda old.

Anacondas
Species III
The Sweetest Thing
Sprung
Along Came Poly
Aladdin
Just Married
Just Friends
Open Water
Chicken Run
Howl's Moving Castle
The Incredibles
Bee Movies
Man On Fire

Twilight
.... and a couple others I can't think off.

Re: My film collection (feel free to post yours as well)

I love collecting DVDs. It's fun to get them in the mail (I order all of mine online) and display them. I like categorizing them in different ways; alphabetically, by actor, by director or by theme. And my DVD collection would be A LOT bigger than it is now if I never gave in to these weird impulses I get where I want to sell my DVDs in order to make quick cash. I'm going to try my hardest to never sell any more movies I buy.

Anyway... here's my collection thus far:

Nightmare Before Christmas
Alice in Wonderland (2010)
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005)
Edward Scissorhands
Sweeney Todd
Sleepy Hollow
Ed Wood
Corpse Bride
Cry-Baby
From Hell
Benny & Joon
Secret Window
River's Edge
Rubin & Ed
Willard (2003)
Simon Says
Amadeus
Wilde

Dr. Strangelove
The Matrix (all of them)
Inception
The Kids Are All Right

Re: My film collection (feel free to post yours as well)

Too many to list. Long time ago I got 900 films from my father. 3 movies on each vcr. Then I bought a lot of dvds including some at garage sales. While I threw out most of the movies I got from my dad [what was I thinking?] I continued buying new ones. Plus I've given my son a lot, gave some to others etc.

I have over 1000 dvd's so ill list some of my top Blu-Rays.

The Batman Anthology
The Dark Knight Trilogy
Superman Complete Set
Man of Steel
Watchmen
The Green Lantern (ugh...)
Daredevil (ugh...)
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy

Amadeus
The Story of Luke
The Three Idiots (Bollywood)
The Anaconda Trilogy (i'm the 4th
idiot)

Ok, i'll confess, some of those weren't my favourites but i thought they'd be fun to mention. I do like Tim Burton's style but i try to avoid them. I have a lot more comedies and sci-fi films but i can't be bothered to sort through them. Honourable mentions are Serenity, but only because of the reavers, Indiana Jones, the Men in Black, the taking of Pelham 123, and Taken.

I have loads more that are DVD's but i try to buy a Blu-Ray copy if i want to watch a film nowadays.

Most of my DVD's are documentary or TV ones but here are my real films ones...
The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn
Alien vs Predator (lame)
Carry on Behind
The Dark Knight
Doom
Hitchcock
Jackass - the movie
Jack Reacher
Oblivion
Sherlock Holmes
Star Wars trilogy
The Sweeney
The Thing
Transformers trilogy
2001: A space odyssey

And here are some of the non-movie ones....
American Pickers
Destroyed in Seconds (complete)
The first 48 (season 1)
Heaston's Feasts
Heaston's Magical Food
Planet Dinosaur
Prehistoric Park
Time Team UK
Wagner & me
Wainwright Walks
War of the Worlds (live stage version of Jeff Wayne's musical)

I have a huge list of movies so I'm not going to put them all down here.
My favorites, however, are:

V for Vendetta
Fight Club
Into the Wild
The Matrix
The Bourne Series
