Pottery On The Wheel - What Can You Think Up Based On That Sentence?

One of the subjects covered in Happiness Is....500 Things To Be Happy About is 'pottery on the wheel'. So, when you hear the phrase 'pottery on the wheel', what does it make you think of?

It makes me think of how our individual lives are like unfinished pottery on the wheel. We have the power to shape our experiences in life and to control our thoughts and perceptions (to a degree). We can be an open vessel or closed off.

We may not be able to control things that happen to us and happen around us, however, we can control our reactions and responses much of the time.

Alternatively, a literal interpretation of pottery on a wheel make me see an image of various types of pottery displayed on a wheel like one from a car, old wagon, or bicycle. My mental image has assorted pots and jars, glazed and unglazed, some with paint some without, spread out on a car tire and rim which sit on a green grass hillside, with blue skies and sparse clouds.
