RC flight

I fly U-control model airplanes. My membership is current in The Flying Circus AMA 3099 flying club located in Carmichaels,Pa USA. I build, repair and fly balsa craft on nitromethane fuels. I have a small hobby business horsetrading in antique Cox branded mid to high performance engines that supports my habit. Along the way,I run into some very interesting finds. As a child,I got to fly an American Junior Fireball airplane. My quest to find another one was spurred by finding a baby version of the original which is nearly finished. Then I found an original one that was already built and added it to the hanger. The next one I found was an original kit that was fully intact with all the proper documentation. The Fireball is the airplane that is pictured in the patent drawing for U-controlled flight that was held by "Jim" Neville Walker. My quest then began to locate and buy anything that came out of his original Portland Oregon factory during the 40s and 50s before Jim's untimely death. The Fireball kit will receive the original Ohlsson & Rice .23 that runs on two stroke gasoline based fuel. It requires both an ignition coil and points to fire a sparkplug and has a manual ignition advance control.

I never made the move to radio. U-control lets me feel the feedback from the airframe and the engine running thru my hand. You become a part of the flight experience, not just an observer, and you are not limited by only flying in a circle if you cut it up right.
