Reactions to ear plugs

Have you also noticed that people react to ear plugs in a way that they are nicer and not attacking? And that salespeople don't stop talking to you if you don't maintain eye contact. Why is that? It has technically nothing to do with hearing problems.

Or generally what has your experience been?

My earplugs are the Loops that allow for hearing people but quiet down background noise.

I've had limited experience with earplugs in public. I have EAROS and they do help me, however I feel like my hearing is already bad because I miss too much wearing them and they're not that high of dB rating I don't think, -17 dB, I think. I also struggle with the occlusion effect; it sometimes causes a speech jamming effect for me. I usually wear headphones instead because I also like to listen to things through them.

I also use the loops, but I think they just look like modern bluetooth earbuds to others. I don’t know, though. I always use the self check out and I say thank you to all the workers just because they are working.

Hm, maybe they think they're earbuds. I noticed that people assume someone wearing headphones can appear distracted.

Now I'm wondering that on days I'm using them, I might be more tired anyway and maybe I look very tired, my family members mentioned it not long ago...
