Research study opportunity for software engineers with ASD

Microsoft Research is starting a new research study aimed at increasing participation in software engineering by people with a variety of cognitive profiles, including Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, and learning challenges such as dyslexia. We are interested in how programming languages, programming tools, programming education, and/or software engineering processes might be improved to facilitate broader and more effective participation in software engineering by people with these diagnoses.

As part of this project, we are conducting interviews with people who work in the software industry who identify as being on the autism spectrum. Interviews are one hour long and can be conducted at Microsoft (for people residing in the Seattle metro area) or via Skype (for people who are not able to travel to the Microsoft campus). Participants will receive a $50 Amazon.com gift card as a gratuity for their time (participants must reside in the U.S. to be eligible for the gratuity). All interviews are confidential, and any data analysis and reporting will be done using anonymized data.

If you would like to participate, please email [email protected] by July 15th to indicate your interest.

Feel free to share this announcement with others whom you think may be interested, and/or to repost it on other forums or email lists that may be relevant.
