How many people here enjoy rice as a side dish, or as an ingredient in a main dish?

Love it, gotta have rice. There's a dish called Hunters Casserole, that's very good but it's nothing without a bowl of rice on the side.

Rice. A dollar a pound here and I should be getting a sack of Himalayan basmati from the local Indian store. Aromatic, tasty, filling, a real treasure of the Orient and it's only a dollar a pound.

I am going to get my bicycle out, head for the Indian store, give the nice Hindi lady some money and come home with a burlap sack full.

I really enjoy Basmati. But I've found that Sushi rice does not spike my blood sugar. But, beyond rice, a favorite of mine is rice noodles in all their shapes and textures. Rice noodles with a little panang curry are delicious.

Indian = live on rice. Jasmine, Basmati, Uncle Ben's you name it.. oh and rice flour

Wild, Long grain, brown, Jasmine, fried.
I use rice mainly as a setting for the main dish.
Cover the plate with the rice then the rice with whatever the meat dish is.
Sweet and sour shrimp, fish, curried meats. Anything goes well with it.
Most times I like Teriyaki sprinkled on the rice also.
Rice goes well in stuffed peppers and certain soups also.

I don't like Spanish rice. That is the only kind I can think of I don't really care for.

Cabbage rolls, my mom's stuffed peppers she used to make with rice. Sticky sushi rice with miran, vinegar for Cali roll. Faux rice from cauliflower is a great substitute.

Rice is great with Asian food (curry or stirfries). However, if I eat too much and too often, it gives me constipation, so it always has to be taken with a food high in fibre.

All rice is good rice. Jasmine is my favourite though.

Jasmine is my favorite, too. I buy 10-pound bags of it at the Asian food store. I think I could eat rice and some kind of dried beans every day and be happy. Love it plain, buttered, cooked every way possible, with gravy or almost any other sauce on it. Sometimes I eat a bowl of plain rice with a hefty dash of Tabasco sauce on it!
