Richard Lawrence is easily one of the standout stars of hit Channel 4 reality show The Undateables, which follows 'people with challenging conditions who are looking for love'.

Richard, who has Asperger's Syndrome, appeared on the first series of the show and has returned several times since in his quest for love.

And it seems he's now winning people over outside of the popular series, too, thanks to a pretty incredible new Instagram account.

For some of his first posts, Richard teamed up with a friend to discuss and raise awareness of autism, ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and anxiety in a series of Q&A-style posts, which is a brilliant way to shed more light on the issues that are close to his heart - without the heavy editing that comes with national TV.

"How does having autism affect your life?" Friend Joe, who has ADHD, asks in one video.

"It affects my day-to-day life in the sense that I can't hold down a normal, run-of-the-mill job," Richard replies. "It's the rules, the time and other people - other people who have a different rule book to you."

In another, he says: "I can't help the way I am, the way I behave around other people. I kind of feel like they're sort of winding me up on purpose sometimes, and that might not be the case. It's just the way I am."

As soon as fans caught wind of his move to the popular social media site, they were eager to spread the news:

Since those earlier posts, he's also shared talking head-style videos, in which he responds to fans' questions or cracks jokes.

In one, he even explains that if he gets another thousand follows, he'll post a video of him doing the famous muscle trick.

In others, he also taps into that common Instagram trait of sharing what you're eating.

"Food fit for a legend," he says in a video from earlier this month, showing us a plate of chillicon carne with rice. "And before we go any further: no, I'm not a pig - I just like to eat a lot. That's all it is."

Same, Richard, same.

In another, he shows us his breakfast of porridge oats in milk. He explains that it's actually on the menu for the following morning, but is preparing it now to save time later - meaning he's already smashed overnight oats, another Insta-classic.

"It's only about 2 o'clock in the afternoon at present, so I've put a bit of milk on it now, but I'm not going to be eating here tonight so I thought I'd prepare it now. Saves me having to mess about doing it later on."

Definitely beats our photos of avocado on toast and endless memes.

Good on him for using Instagram as a platform to spark discussion about what it's like living with Asperger's Syndrome - peppered with a few jokes along the way. What a guy.
