Alright, so it's no more than five hours from home, but a weekend away, something I haven't done in about two years, this one kind of fell in my lap actually earlier this week, a trip with a friend

1) Tomorrow head north to the Edmonton area to catch some Ford Model T Racing

2) Head back south to the Badlands region of Alberta for the evening events of a small music festival, I will be photographing it

3) Sunday morning, head out onto the prairies to explore, take a photo or two, or perhaps more

4) Sunday evening, same as previous evening

5) Monday (long weekend), leave early and do some exploring

6) Tuesday back to work :( But a four day work week

Looking forward to it, I need this! :)

You are working. Excellent.

And a great trip too.

Lucky you. Can l sneak along in your camera bag? Wait- only if you have time, a great shot you took and feel like sharing for all us closet photographers and armchair travelers.

Just heading out right now... This is a photo from 2018, I'll be driving the same car though...

Sounds like great fun! And, what a variety. I have been into the Alberta bedlands only once. It is so rich in fossils. Amateurs were allowed to hunt in a non-reserved area and we came across a Gorgasaurus and Edmontasaurus weathering out. In very bad shape, but I managed to save some cervical vertebrae and teeth from the Gorgasaurus. During the late Cretaceous there was a forest fire, sometimes fossilized charcoal from that event is found.

That,...sounds like fun.:) I got a small taste of this when we were exploring some of the parks in Utah when my boys were young. Off road into the back country with the old 4Runner. Saw some pretty cool digs going on.

I might have to suggest a trip up into Alberta some time.

Ugh! Check engine light blues... Car is still driving fine but derailed from some driving plans I had since the light is on... When plans go wrong... Right now exploring downtown Drumheller, not exactly where I wanted to be right now... But there will still be music tonight... One photo I just took in Drumheller on my phone...

So...

The check engine light was on because of a knock sensor issue, the light disappeared the moment a technician plugged in the computer... Basically that means nothing major was going on... And still had a great weekend despite a change of plans....

Some of the scenery I was around all weekend, in the Alberta badlands... This is a coulee that is on private property, and where there is a yearly music festival...
