Roleplaying!

I've become addicted to role playing. Specifically on Tumblr. It is so much fun! Not the dirty kind of role playing, the creative fun kind. I've joined three role plays and post everyday, if I can. I noticed that since I have started having more outgoing characters, that people want to role play with me more.

Someone even called my character adorable.

I wish I could do dungeons and dragons but the fact that you have to work together with people, to make a decision kind of scares me. Plus I like making a decision on my own.

I like online because on Tumblr, you can use gifs and icons. For your character.

I might try joining one on a rp forum and see the difference. To see which I like better. But I noticed with the rp forum, they want you to write a lot. More than I am used to writing.

I know a person who is playing Pathfinder, which is
an off-shoot of D & D. It looks so complicated, I don't
think I'd be able to do it, even if somebody wanted to
pay me to learn.

In Pathfinder, people can form their character either
by traits or mathematically. They do meet, in person,
to play the game.

What kind of activities do the characters on Tumblr, in
the area where you are role playing, do?

In Pathfinder, they are always going off on missions
and having spells and stuff.

It depends on the role play. Usually interacting and coming up with plots. Sending a person a message, if you want to do something with their character. Writing a small biography for your character.

I left one role play today, because it wasn't a good fit. But I'm in a mental hospital role play. A role play where you either play as a kidnapped person or kidnapper, which is a horror. Then I was in a high school role play, but that one wasn't a good fit so I decided to leave. A lot of people ended up leaving that one, due to lack of activity.

I don't know anything about Tumblr, really,
aside from...it exists, people put pictures up there on
themes & a lot of it seems really dumb/fatuous/silly or
pervy. But there are parts that aren't any of those things.

How would I find the/a part of Tumblr that is where
role playing is taking place?

Type in the search bar on tumblr, whatever rp you want. Like say example: college rp. Make sure to make a account on tumblr though, first. Then find the rp you like. There will be tons of blogs.

I rp'd an Undead Warlock in WoW until Blizzard removed the RP protection.
Shortly after that I stopped playing.

I'd love to be able to do role-playing, but I don't have the imagination

That's one of the advantages of Pathfinder character building.
You can either think of traits, attributes, the way a person acts...
or you can build your character and its tendencies arithmetically.

I'll give it a go [emoji38]

I adore role-playing, but usually only do it in my head, not with other people. I really should poke around online to try to find some role-playing stuff I might be able to do, I’d love to do it with other people, I’ll check Tumblr out for starters. I play D&D with my family and my brother’s girlfriend’s family, but I’m too timid to do much in person and have only recently started actually giving my character some, well, character. But it’s exactly the sort of thing I’m after, getting to use a character/characters but not having to come up with the entire story myself. Hard to find people who share my interests, but I’d be ecstatic if I did find someone(s) to do ones I’ve already got characters I could use for.

I am an avid rper that has done Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 and 5e. I have done forum role-plays which is where I started. I also am on Second Life and IMVU as well. I actually created my own world, characters, and such too since rping is what I have done for many years now and have had a ton of fun. It allows me to delve into roles and topics so I could test things out safely, and see what it would be like. I have been in Dragonball rps, medieval, Slave/Owner, Star Trek, Fantasy, and some others too. If you want to learn the D&D I do have the ability to DM (Dungeon Master) or GM (Game Master), and have all the dice needed for the events too. Let me know if you want to try a forum rp some time and what you would like to play as and I'll see about setting some stuff up.

I do it all the time on Discord with my "space meerkat" character (the one in my profile pic and added another picture of. I really need to do more pictures of her anthro form).

If you find the right DM (Dungeon Master), you won't necessarily have to work with other people. You could play a wayward thief who always does his/her own thing, for example.

If you want a more simple game, there is a roleplaying system called Fate that is very light on rules. Maybe you can find some people to play a Fate game with.
