Saudi princess ‘deeply inspired’ by Haringey autism charity during Muswell Hill school visit
A member of the Saudi royal family has paid tribute to the work of an autism charity.
HRH Princess Al Hanouf Mamdouh Al Saud paid a visit to the Tree House School in Woodside Avenue, Muswell Hill to take a look at how the school and its parent charity Ambitious about Autism (AaA) work with autistic children.
Her royal highness actively supports a charity for children with autism in Saudia Arabia which was set up by her grandfather and was taken on a tour of the purpose built school.
The princess said: “I was deeply inspired by the work being carried out at Tree House School and talking with Ambitious about Autism staff.
“It’s evident the charity cares deeply about the work that it does, and I’m impressed at the campaigning work it does to raise awareness of autism and ensure that autistic children are given the opportunities to build a life for themselves.”
The Princess visited the Tree House School Shop where students learn how to handle money and deal with potential customers, she also watched a music class and viewed the school’s playground facilities.
Chief executive of AaA Jolanta Lasota said: "We were absolutely delighted to welcome her royal highness to Ambitious about Autism and to show her around TreeHouse School.
“Everyone was thrilled to meet the Princess and were impressed that she knew so much about the needs of children with autism.”
