Shooter-an introduction

Hi there, I'm Shooter. Apparently, I was diagnosed at a young age, but never really paid much attention to it, until recently.

I am in my 30s and my whole life has been a failure. I now think that I have been unlucky. I think having a "diagnosis" makes it worse, because people put a label on you.

Welcome Shooter!
People will be people. Most are judgemental and will use a label against you. Most important is you not buying into negative labelling.

When a counsellor suggested I was ASD, I agreed. When she asked me how I felt about that, I told her it was irrelevant. And it is. It doesn't change who you are at all. And who you are is up to you alone.

Welcome to Autism Forums! That label that you spoke of, is one of the reasons that I tell people about my diagnosis on a need to know basis only.

Welcome! I have definitely had my diagnosis used against me but it has also been helpful to have a diagnosis because I got services in college and I also get disability services now through my state.
