Show us your rack... your book rack, that is. ;)

I used to get all of my books through a books-by-mail service; this is why I hardly own any books. A couple of the books you see in my pic were given to me, and some of my books were lent out to people but were never returned. I'm starting to buy first-edition hardcover editions of books. By next year, I hope to have a semi-large book collection. I owned a ton of books as a kid, but sold them all at a garage sale. Goosebumps is pretty much what got me into books. I owned almost every book from the series including some of the choose-your-own-adventure stories (which I almost preferred to the "normal" books from the series). As a kid, I mainly read Goosebumps, anything to do with UFOs/aliens, and any astronomy-related book.

This is mine and my husband's book collections combined. I collect mostly cookbooks while he collects mainly horror stories. The bookcase on the left is actually double-stuffed. There is another row of books behind the visible row. Our book collection used to be larger, but we decided to donate the ones we didn't want anymore. We got rid of a third of our books. The collection is slowly growing again, though.

I accumulate books. I love them except when I move (then I curse myself for having them).

They are about one-third fiction (heavy bias towards fantasy and some sci-fi) and the rest nonfiction, focused on zoology (especially birds and mammals), physics, US civil war history, dragons, art, music including symphony scores, and a variety of textbooks from classes.

I have a huge love of books and a giant phobia of others seeing photo's of me or even of my stuff, weird I know but that’s what I’m working with so cut me some slack ; ]

My books are sadly not in a rack? They are in fact in many boxes awaiting assessment as to which ones where most badly damaged by a leak that occurred where they where stored.

This is the tower of paperback books in their boxes
(the CD racks and mop handle in front are for perspective and not because I am a slob) *Liar* what, who said that?

I cant get to the rest of the books at the moment to photograph them as well, hard covers, trade paperbacks and the like, but I think you get the idea yes?

I still can?t get over that I am putting a photo on the net, don?t laugh, that?s actually a big step for me. Maybe next week I will say hello in the chat box ; ]
