Silent discos

In the city where I live, two silent discos have went past me. One participant was holding her headphones, as a passer-by the music sounded loud to me. I guess people are not informed or don't care if noise at these events or at certain places in a music venue near the speakers may cause hearing damage

I think it's where people wear earphones so the music isn't playing loud or disturbing people, seems a good idea although I hope they don't harm their hearing. But a loud disco would do so too, and would possibly harm or inconvenience others, so I guess it's the lesser of 2 evils?

I live in a city that they like to "Keep Weird", and it lives up to its reputation.

In the big public square in Downtown, I've walked past silent discos. It's something else. Just imagine, pigeons hobbling around, eating crumbs, the light rail train is picking up commuters, and people are walking to and from work and shopping.

And right in the center of it, there are about 200 people flailing around silently, dancing to nothing. And all you hear is traffic and the breeze.

You have to stop and ask Google what's going on, just to make sure it isn't some mime convention, or a mass attack of scabies, or killer bees. lol. That's when you learn about silent discos.

Now you wish you had brought your earbuds.

Just another day in the life of the Weirdest City in America! LOL
