Silent Hill 2

The remake is fantastic.

I thought Bloober Team did a better job than what Capcom did with their Resident Evil remakes. Since those titles were quite good but lacked accuracy with their original counterparts in a lot of ways, I was amazed to see Konami and Bloober Team pulled out all the stops. Because this game is very faithful, and some people are saying they think it's better than the original.

Let me know your thoughts. Just do note, it's a game intended for age 18+ players.

The fog removal mod looks interesting. I tried a few Silent Hill games. But I found that style of survival horror rather clunky. Similarly with Resident Evil.

Nice graphics in that Silent Hill 2 remake though.

I like how they put in new scenes with Angela and Maria. Most of it is the same story. There are a few things they did slightly differently. For example, James sees Laura with Eddie in a cinema, while this part happened in a bowling alley in the original.

From what I’m playing through so far, I’m really liking it. I’ve only reached up to Rosewater Park but I’m invested in the remake. It’s better than I thought it’d be. I was worried it was going to change around things too much but so far, it’s surprisingly faithful to the original game (even though I’ve only watched a gameplay, not actually played through it). And of course, the graphics just make the otherworld look beautifully twisted. Although I still wish I could find a way to play the old games sometime

I know the feeling. If you get a sealed copy popping up on eBay, expect to have to fork out well over 300 quid. I sold a few games in the series while I was skint ages ago.

Although the first game can be bought on the PS3 digital download store for under a tenner.
