Silent Hill has finally returned...

I liked the atmosphere and design of SH, but the gameplay felt a little clunky and stale. So many locked doors, and I never understood why lots of horror games thought that puzzles would be a good fit for a horror game. Fighting to survive, avoiding or fighting monsters with limited ammo, oh and here's lots of puzzles which you need to solve along the way. An odd blend if you ask me.

Perhaps I should try a new SH game to see if it fairs any better. I never got to play PT, but I saw gameplay trailers and realised it's more puzzles.

I agree, since I don't like puzzles in horror games either. There's a few modest puzzles in games like The Last of Us, but they normally just consist of you thinking about where to place something like a rope.

I think Silent Hill 4: The Room is annoying, because the game has a lot of puzzles, but the gameplay is also very hard. There's also tons of backtracking involved, because it's the first game where they slap you with an item limit. You have to constantly return to Henry's apartment to store stuff, and also check for red notes pushed under his door, and it is also the only place you can save your progress.

I hated that game. However, the story was engaging. It kept my interest.

The new Silent Hill is SH2 remake. I have mixed feelings tho. I love SH2 - it's my favorite, but at the same time I expected something bigger, like new title, another story not just James' one again

I think it looks rather faithful, to be honest. :)

Dusk Golem claims there's more unannounced games being leased out to the indies.

However, people on other forums are still complaining. It's just really sad. They're so ungrateful.
