I'll start off with a few examples of my own.

1. This was probably a form of vocal stimming and my mood was a bit elevated at the time as well. My parents were both at work and I was working on the laundry when I started yodeling the word "meow" really really loudly. It felt exhilarating - until I realized the door to the house was open and the whole neighborhood was getting a live performance that I guess we'll call The Yodeling Cat.😳🙄
2. I guess I will blame ADHD impulsivity for this next one. We had our horses at a place that had a pond inside the pasture and we had been getting a lot of rain. The pond had flooded, cutting the pasture in two. I wanted to get to the other side.I think it had something to do with a horse halter that had come off. Anyway, there was a very narrow land bridge so I thought I could make it. When I started across, I started to sink in mud. At first it was up to like my ankles or something. So I plowed on ahead but it kept getting worse. Soon I was sinking knee deep in mud. Thankfully, someone was there to rescue me. For some reason, I seem to be more cautious about taking off across things like that now.😉
3. When I was about 11, I attended some summer thing for kids. One part of the program needed a few volunteers for acting, a few for miming and a few for narrating. I volunteered for the acting, but got assigned to the miming team instead. Mimes are supposed to tell a story by their movement without any sound. We had a certain story we were supposed to present silently. When we got up in front of everyone, I felt uncomfortable so I couldn't do anything but keep doubling over laughing every few seconds. There went that, but at least the crowd got some kind of entertainment and not at my expense either (mean they didn't charge me anything).🙄
4. OCD or germophobia or something of that nature caused this last one. I didn't like handling the doorknobs in public restrooms because not everyone washes their hands. I had taught myself to do a circular motion to bring my leg up high enough to use my foot by practicing a move a had observed while watching Walker Texas Ranger. On this particular day I used my technique to open the door and another lady was apparently waiting outside. When the door flew open and my foot finished it's circular motion back down to the ground, I saw the women that had been waiting outside staring horrified with a deer in the headlights expression. She must have noticed the karate based move. Sometimes I still wonder what was going through that poor lady's mind.😅

I'm a giant nerd of horror movies and so on, so my brother got a chuckle whenever we marathoned a series and I had detail memory of what movies had what characters, plot points etc

The moment that truly made him burst out laughing was when I revealed one of the other villains in Halloween 6 was actually a minor character in the first one. He was amazed I remembered a minor character like that

I went off in a totally unexpected direction when a used car dealer tried to manipulate me.*
*It probably works pretty reliably on naive NTs...

I, too, will be watching something like one of the newer Evil Dead movies and see something so over-the-top gory and absurd and laugh with how much I enjoy the shock of it.

I can be extremely detailed and recall everything that someone said / did in a malicious, lying, back-stabbing manner...when I'm calling them out...roasting them...likely in front of others. Oops.

@Dagan Do you mean you actually enjoy and get a genuine high from violent scenes? That's a rather disturbing attitude if true.

When you have a NT wife and she isn't very specific about answering questions or requests, pretty much anything can happen. My brain operates on a totally different wavelength. We both think each other is a bit "off". She gets far more irritated with it than I do. I just laugh.

I like that question: one of my first memories was when I was...it seems like around 7, and someone brought me a how-to book for children about how to tie knots--maritime knots, knots to tie horses and let them go easily, square knots, figure 8s. I got fixated on (not obsessed with) knots and wanted to spend all my time practicing making them, and looking at the book, , and my parents got me a box to keep my knots in. I remember just feeling fascinated by the whole process, would tie knots to all kinds of things in the duplex--doorknob, dresser. It was goofy, but wonderful.

I did knot see that coming :)

But seriously, that's something I've thought about learning for a long time, is application of various knots and how to make them. Only thing I really know is how to tie a shoe. Used to know how to tie a fishhook but don't remember now. Currently my method is just keep looping through various places until it no longer slips.

MY stupid can-do attitude that can get me into trouble at pretty much any age. One trip was an inflatable kayak, that l convinced my boyfriend to go out to Molikini crater , of course we tired out, and a giant tourist boat saved us. Another stupid thing was l just copied an affidavit for my divorce off the internet, filled it out , brought it to the court house, and the very nice lady inserted the appropriate legal paragraph and entered it in to the record. Later, the judge did have to sign it, and the attorney l hired couldn't believe it was entered in to records. Thanks to my gal pals. :)

I didn't mean it to sound bad. Oops. I meant in terms of knowing that I'm watching a horror movie (also, that I have long done FX / screenplays and worked on horror movies, so I have that perspective at the same time), and then in said film they do this extreme / absurd gorefest of a scene that I just can't help but to laugh at it....but, yes....as I have love of movies, the genre and the process overall....I do enjoy the shocking piece of art that they pulled off, as well. Movie magic reactions.

Like with any other magic, honestly. We are being fooled / made to look as fools.....but we laugh and clap about it, haha.

I was genuinely angry when I found out in early elementary school that actual biological hearts didn't look like this:❤️
I absolutely couldn't fathom why the shape of a heart would be so universally mis-represented!
