Sleep issues

I've posted this topic before but this one is going to be different . What makes it different is that my sleep issues are getting worse . What makes it worse is that I can't even close my eyes because I get panicked then have meltdown for no reason like sleep is becoming a beautiful place where I wanna be but something totally scares me and I can't even go to sleep because of that . Yeah this is weird . I don't know how to deal with this I've been tryin to relax before going to bed , not listening to something that's too loud as of lately but still I get scared when my mother turns the light off and I have tried to sleep with the light on one day and the result was totally horrible I can't sleep at all !! Urghhh

Anyone here have the same problem ? Or anyone have tips ?

idk bro i never sleep because its to boring, i only sleep when I want an excuse to be alone away from people to be honest. i sleep 4-5 hours a night on normal days and 12-16 hours in a day like once a week i have major depression though. Do you listen to music at all

I have chronic insomnia, in that I cannot get a single minute of sleep without meds, but my situation is a little different, in that I think it's a purely neurological thing (I have a problem with my temporal lobes that does strange things to me). Like you, it's gotten worse with age.

I don't know if your inability to sleep is a result of those panicky thoughts, or the cause. One way to find out would be to practice some sort of mindfulness meditation to clear your thoughts and see if that helps. If not, medication may be the answer: I have to rely on a combination of two meds (Seroquel and Klonopin) to get myself to fall asleep, and it's always a crapshoot as to how long it will be before I wake up. Do you have a doctor (psychiatrist or GP) to whom you could talk about this?
