So I need a hobby ....

Mattymatt

Imperfectly Perfect
Since last night was "Sleepless in Philadelphia," I decided to YouTube some random stuff. I'm a pretty random guy so my Aspieness was definitely in the forefront. One of my searches came up with RC aircraft and I'm hooked. I saw someone had built a flying model Airbus A330 and just thought that was the coolest thing since Kraft Singles. Fast forward to this afternoon and I'm at the local hobby store. I finally decided to follow the prevailing advice and get a hobby!

That feeling where your interest in something random goes from 0-60 in about an hour. I get it, my friend. xD Right now I'm into piracy (the oceanic kind, not the software kind). Next week it might be ancient Egyptian mythology. Hope you get a big kick out of this hobby - every time I go to a hobby shop, I'm always tempted to pick up one of those remote control helicopters, but have never taken the plunge.

I bought a little indoors one. Fun as heck.

That's why I have a few hobbies, all of which also address a few aspects/activities.

Though luckily my hobbies and randomness don't go all over the place; I tend to keep it within the hobbies I have now, but keeping it to a single aspect never really worked for me, heh.

Ha! 0 to 60 in less than an hour, that's us, or me anyways. I have one prevailing hobby that will likely always be there, and that is old air cooled Volkswagen's. The others have all come and gone. My interest in these flairs up at times, and dies out at others, but remains just the same. I am in the "Go" phase right now, and am having a blast with it. Problem is, I can only do so much at a time. I lay awake at night and think about it and what I am going to do the next day. I can not sleep for all the excitement, and do most things half tired. But tired or not. I am happy.

I would love to try one of those remote control helicopters, but they're so expensive and I'm afraid I'd fly it right into a wall (or worse) hit someone in the head or other body part (if you know what I mean).

RC planes are really neat. Though I have never gotten into those (yet), I enjoy watching them. My mother's second husband had RC gliders, which are both fascinating and challenging.

Yes, they are cool. I've been looking into maybe building one from foam. Still am ...

In fact, I've been learning about EDF jets. I would love to find plans for a 757-200. Those are my favorite airliners.
