She suggested that I might be level 2 autism, and that I probably need a lot more support than what I have been receiving in my daily life in terms of breaking my isolation and loneliness. She noted that I was the victim of mate crime several years ago (thanks to my involvement with Theresa), and that the gaslighting I am receiving from my entire blood family has not been very helpful to me at all. She also noticed I live with internalized ableism - I allowed myself to be the victim of mate crime for several years, therefore I feel I am less than human. I would not apply that standard to anybody else.

I reached out to a local autism peer support center to see what they have to offer. I have not heard back from them yet, but I just sent the email half an hour ago.

I hope that conversation and these realizations you are having bring more support into your life. I think sometimes it can be difficult to accept new information, but the better informed we are about our own experiences, the better we can arrange a good life for ourselves.

There is now a chosen family in my life - people who accept me as a fellow human being. I am a joke to everybody else in my blood family, and that hurts.
