Social Groups for Making New Friends

I've recently moved away from my home town for school and found that I don't know anyone in my home town anymore. I was hoping someone might know of any social groups on Florida, specifically the Orlando area that I could join.

I'm based in Australia, but I believe the website is in most developed countries: Meetup.com

The website is a platform for people to advertise social engagements for anybody to attend. I've been to two myself, one a bushwalk and the other a dinner in a restaurant, and I enjoyed both. You might be able to find a group in your area and start attending their arrangements?

meetup.com is in most big cities around the world. Orlando meetups will definitely be on that website.
