That is what I did. It was well worth the fee. They said that your chances improve once you turn 50.I've heard that in some cases it requires the assistance of an attorney to get through all the red tape. Have you considered legal counsel for assistance? Most charge a fee only if there's a recovery and then it's a flat percentage.
An advocate is just a UK word for an attorney.
Elemental Thank you; I'm so intimidated with this. Social security personnel can be quite rude. Where do i find an advocate?
Didn't work out
I can't find any help. Ssdi wants doctor documentation. I don't have money or insurance for doctor. And no lawyer will take my case since I don't have a doctor. This is not fair! Mother neglected to get me autism help and father abandoned me. I have been overlooked by "the system" and I have Googled and Googled til my fingers burn and I am at the end of my rope. My faith and hope for at least a semi normal life has vanished.
Who gave you the PTSD diagnosis? Aren't they on tap for this issue?I have..., ptsd...
My mistake. In the USA, that can be any friend or family member that you authorize to help you with your case.In UK, an advocate is any individual who will accompany you, support you, speak on your behalf or undertake any associated tasks like: correspondence, form-filling, telephone calls & email etc.
