Imam Sadiq (as) said:
مَنْ قَرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ وَ هُوَ شَابٌّ مُؤْمِنٌ اخْتَلَطَ الْقُرْآنُ بِلَحْمِهِ وَ دَمِهِ وَ جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مَعَ السَّفَرَةِ الْكِرَامِ الْبَرَرَةِ وَ كَانَ الْقُرْآنُ حَجِيزاً عَنْهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ
[As for] one who in his youth recites Quran and is a believer, the Quran becomes mixed with his flesh and blood, and God, the Noble and Great, will make him friends with message-bearing, well-mannered angels. In addition, the Quran will act as a barrier [between him and the hellfire] on the Day of Judgment.
