Post links if you want to, but copy/paste would be preferred :). Let's try to post one at a time so we don't run out so quick people don't have a chance to respond.

Take Me Home--Phil Collins

Take that look of worry
I'm an ordinary man
They don't tell me nothing
So I find out what I can
There's a fire that's been burning
Right outside my door
I can't see but I feel it
And it helps to keep me warm
So I, I don't mind
No I, I don't mind

Seems so long I've been waiting
Still don't know what for
There's no point escaping
I don't worry anymore
I can't come out to find you
I don't like to go outside
They can't turn off my feelings
Like they're turning off a light
But I, I don't mind
No I, I don't mind
Oh I, I don't mind
No I, I don't mind

So take, take me home
Cos I don't remember
Take, take me home
Cos I don't remember
Take, take me home
Cos I don't remember
Take, take me home, oh lord
Cos I've been a prisoner all my life
And I can say to you

Take that look of worry, mine's an ordinary life
Working when it's daylight
And sleeping when it's night
I've got no far horizons
I don't wish upon a star
They don't think that I listen
Oh but I know who they are
And I, I don't mind
No I, I don't mind
Oh I, I don't mind
No I, I don't mind

So take, take me home
Cos I don't remember
Take, take me home
Cos I don't remember
Take, take me home
Cos I don't remember
Take, take me home, oh lord
Well I've been a prisoner all my life
And I can say to you

But I don't remember
Take, take me home...

Don't know about describing AS. Runaway Train is good, for my life. Particularly, 'going the wrong way down a one-way track' & 'feels like I should be getting somewhere but, somehow, it's neither here nor there'.

Definitely appropriate! I love that song!!! I tend to enjoy songs I can relate to a lot more.

'How on earth did I get so jaded; life's mysteries seem so faded'. There's plenty of songs I do like, mostly pop that isn't intended to mean a lot, as well.

I was listening to The Fool on the Hill recently. By some kind of Coincidence the lyrics fit the subject quite well.

Day after day,
Alone on a hill,
The man with the foolish grin is keeping perfectly still
But nobody wants to know him,
They can see that he's just a fool,
And he never gives an answer,

But the fool on the hill,
Sees the sun going down,
And the eyes in his head,
See the world spinning 'round.

Well on the way,
Head in a cloud,
The man of a thousand voices talking perfectly loud
But nobody ever hear him,
or the sound he appears to make,
and he never seems to notice,

But the fool on the hill,
Sees the sun going down,
And the eyes in his head,
See the world spinning 'round.

And nobody seems to like him,
they can tell what he wants to do,
and he never shows his feelings,

But the fool on the hill,
Sees the sun going down,
And the eyes in his head,
See the world spinning 'round.

Ooh, ooh,
Round and round and round.

And he never listens to them,
He knows that they're the fools
They don't like him,

The fool on the hill
Sees the sun going down,
And the eyes in his head,
See the world spinning 'round.

Ooh,
Round and round and round

Now the songs here is not the same for every one but to me they are pretty much spelling my asperger, not each and every word of course but still..

Kempy - fool on the hill is perfect. I was thinking of that myself a couple of weeks ago, how that song could have been written about an Aspie.

I also like this one:

About a guy who loves a woman from a distance and can't work out how to approach her. Reminds me of myself when I was younger, just about always infatuated with one young lady or another and being tongue tied at even the thought of speaking to her, yet with a head full of wonderful romantic thoughts. The joys of being socially dysfunctional.

lots of stuff by David Byrne, a diagnosed aspie. he was the frontman/song writer/only important person in The Talking Heads. after that, he's had an impressive solo career. there are lots of his songs that reflect aspieness, from the Talking Heads and later, but this is the one that first came to mind:

I can barely touch my own self
How could I touch someone else?
I’m just an advertisement
For a version of myself

Like molecules in constant motion
Like a million nervous tics
I am quivering with anticipation
Like the sunlight on their wings
I’m ready now

Imaginary--Evanescence:

I linger in the doorway
of alarm clock screaming monsters calling my name
let me stay where the wind will whisper to me
where the raindrops as they're falling tell a story.

REFRAIN
In my field of paper flowers
and candy clouds of lullaby
I lie inside myself for hours
and watch my purple sky fly over me

Don't say I'm "out of touch"
with this rampant chaos, your reality
I know well what lies beyond my sleeping refuge
the nightmare I built my own world to escape

REFRAIN

Swallowed up in the sound of my screaming
cannot cease for the fear of silent lies
oh how I long for the deep sleep dreaming,
the goddess of imaginary life.

I put all the lyrics in because I feel this whole song describes my experience of my not-so-good days, as well as some of the different "sensory" experiences I have, even on my good days.

I will remember you--Sarah McLachlan:

I'm so tired
but I can't sleep
standing on the edge of something much too deep.
It's funny how I feel so much
but cannot say a word
we are screaming inside
or we can't be heard.

I only included the first verse, because this is how I feel sometimes when I can't get words out. It can happen when I'm having a good day or a bad day, but ironically, it usually happens if I'm overtired, so I think the first two lines really fit along with my experience of having difficulty communicating.

Well, whatever I think of to say later, I've no way to know if it's any better than what I did say. Or, if I didn't say anything, if whatever I think of to say would have worked. It doesn't usually seem to work if I'm able to say it another time, though! Probably 'Runaway Train': going the wrong way on a one way track, etc.

But surely you'd be able to figure out the right way to clearly describe how you feel about something or someone. That's what LIGHTS means too.
Really, her entire album The Listening relates to Asperger's, or at least my experience having it. Here are my personal interpretations of each song:
"River" is about wanting to find something that doesn't fade away; I apply this to my friendships.
"Ice" is about accidentaly upsetting someone, who then ends up being cold and unfriendly toward you.
"Pretend" is about wanting to be a kid again and not having to bear the weight of the world. There's a reprisal of this at the end of the album.
"Second Go" speaks for itself; she wants a second chance at something.
"Face Up" is one of my favorites. It's about feeling upset, dull or unmotivated, just staying in your little bubble rather than waking up and going into the world but knowing that you must do just that.
"Lions!" is basically about having courage to face the world.
"Quiet" is about wanting to have a good, calm relationship with someone, without drama.
"Up Up and Away" is about ending relationships and moving on.

When LIGHTS sings about relationships, she probably means romantic ones, but I think they can apply to friendships as well.
Sorry, but there's no way I'm putting up lyrics to every song on this album. XD Anyone who's interested in it can find it on YouTube. :)

Sorry for the double post... I've found another one: "Speak" by Breanne Duren.
Lyrics:

I'm just passing, passing time
Just passing time this way, this way
I'm just passing, passing time
I'm just passing the sweet time this way, this way
And no one has to hear
And no one has to hear me speak

It's just a silly little game
It's just a silly little game I play, that I play
And no one has to hear
And no one has to hear me speak my mind
Speak my passion, speak my deep inside

SPOT. ON.

'Come As You Are' by Nirvana =self-acceptance
'I Should Be So Lucky' by Kylie = unrequited love and fantasy
Nine Inch Nails entire 'Pretty Hate Machine' album

Lol I'll reply when I can add more; tbh I don't really look at Asperger's that much in a lot of my life and the way I relate to songs; I'm a person first, the Asperger's is just a part of my personality.

I am rubbish at interpreting the lyrics of a song. So I don't have anything to contribute :D

I can't even understand 90-95% of even the clearest song's lyrics without the lyrics in front of me to follow along with. Damn auditory processing.
