I want a bowl of chicken noodle soup right now.

What are your favorite soups?

Thick tomato soup with macaroni and a boiled egg in it. 😋 Perfect for cold winter days.
Should be enjoyed with a few slices of bread with butter, on the side.

I don't think I ever met a soup that I didn't like. My one requirement is that it must be boiling hot when it is served unless, of course, it is a cold soup like gazpacho. I really like seafood chowders and gumbos, too.

Speaking from before my stomach problems started, my favorite soup is miso. My second favorite would probably be curry noodle soup that I’ve had in restaurants. I like most kinds of vegan soups like black bean, lentil, and split pea. Soups with noodles or rice are often good. I know I’ve had a vegan version of chicken noodle soup that tasted good.

I’m not such a fan of gazpacho either, or any kind of cold soup. I’d eat hot soup in the summertime, too.

One thing I've learned over decades of making soup is to cook noodles or rice separately from the rest of the soup and then add the right amount of cooked noodles or rice to the bowl of soup that I heat up to eat. When I cook the noodles or rice in the soup, it gets mushy really fast.

There are several types that I like. Chicken noodle, chicken corn chowder, and clam chowder are some of my favorites.

I eat soup almost every day at lunch. I like anything hot...not into cold soup... and anything that does not have mushy vegetables. Purees are the best, or soups w noodles. I think my favorite soup is a seafood udon that I used to get from a Japanese restaurant.

Red lentil soup. Red peppers pureed is surprisingly good soup. Broths are always great. But French onion soup is on my favorite list. A rustic tomato soup is delightful
Borscht is also a favorite though l have never made it. l also like the soup called tortilla soup, but l only buy it in a can instead of making it from scratch.

I like to visit Chinese restaurants for their lunch time soups. Even thought they are just water and vegetables. Once I was offered some thick and mustard tasting soup before the main course. Delicious. I regret that I never asked what it was, I have never had it again since then.

Any way... My personal favorite of self-made soups is chicken soup with coconut milk. Taste comes from the milk, and a curry spice only adds flavor.

Red lentil soup.
I tried once a lentil soup. I think I did it either wrong way, or the recipe was faulty. It became very thin and watery, and amount of lentils were way too small. I thought they were supposed to swell like rice, but mine didn't. How they are supposed to behave?

I never liked cold soup until I tasted vichyssoise, made with leeks, potatoes, onions and cream, topped with chives, in France. Then I tasted gazpacho in Spain, made with fresh ripe tomatoes, celery, cucumber, green peppers, onions, and drunk from a chilled glass on a hot day. It's like V-8 juice or a non-alcoholic Bloody Mary. I became a convert and really like both of those soups for a light lunch during the hot summers where I live. My kids and husband refuse to eat them, but I've always been very curious and adventurous about foods.

I have had vichyssoise....and needed to heat it up after the 2nd bite..LOL. I just cannot do the cold thing for some reason... but I do not like cold drinks either...room temp only. I love hot potato leek soup though! Especially w/ shredded cheddar on top!

I contacted my Senator....asking her to tell Campbell's to bring back their Tomato Rice soup!

They took it off the market! Of all the noyve....

Every winter, I make a stock pot full of homemade chicken noodle soup. I make the noodles and the chicken stock from scratch. I use fresh ginger and parsley to season it. I stuff it full of vegetables. It is more like a chicken noodle stew than a chicken noodle soup. It is delightful.
